WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on achieving a strong centre and musculoskeletal balance, which in turn improves posture, awareness and mobility.
At Village Pilates, we work with you to increase your muscle strength and tone and improve your flexibility in order to achieve a balanced body.
WHAT TO EXPECT
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
During your initial private session, your instructor will assess your individual strengths and weaknesses, and discuss any injuries you may have sustained.
You will gain an understanding of the basic principles of Pilates and have an opportunity to discuss your fitness goals.
Following this session, your instructor will tailor a program for you, specifically designed to meet your individual needs.
SUBSEQUENT SESSIONS
Each one hour session will include a combination of mat and equipment exercises. The type of exercises will vary depending on your health, age and level of fitness.
We use modern Pilates equipment while integrating both traditional and modern ideas and exercises.
Village Pilates classes are small and personalised, with a maximum of 3 people per session. Private sessions are also available.
REFORMER CLASSES
These classes will provide a full body workout using the springs and straps of the reformer. Because there are only 4 people participating in each class, the instructor is able to provide more individual attention and correction, ensuring exercises are performed safely.
