Brian Ellem

Brian has 20 years personal training experience. He began his career as an in-home personal trainer on the North Shore of Sydney before developing a personal training studio at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga in 1996.

During his time at the Hospital, Brian conducted and worked in a variety of community and corporate health programs including stress management, weight management, as well as lifestyle management programs.

In 2005, Brian moved the studio to its current address in St Ives where it continues its success.

Brian has a Masters in Health Science (Exercise Science), a professional background in soccer and a great interest in all sports.

 

LISA SIMPKINSON née BAYFIELD

Lisa Bayfield

Lisa has run Village Pilates since July 2005. She has a dance background, attending The McDonald College of Performing Arts for 8 years.

She has a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from London Contemporary Dance School.

Her Pilates training started at Balancé Physiotherapy & Pilates, where she completed full time in-house training.

She has also completed her graduate certificate in Pilates method training at the University of Technology Sydney, and the Stott Reformer course at Elix’r.

Lisa is a Level 4 instructor with the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA).


MARINA AMARANTE

Marina Amarante

Marina finished her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2003 specialising in postural rehabilitation.

She has had experience working with sports teams and neuro-paediatric rehabilitation.

Over the past 4 years Marina has been working in rehabilitation hospitals in Sydney.

Marina completed her studio / rehabilitation Pilates course through Polestar Education and currently works at 2 studios in Sydney.

She enjoys combining her physiotherapy knowledge and expertise with the Pilates repertoire and has been an enthusiastic member of Village Studio since the end of 2009.

 

 


FERNANDA BARTH LEIE

Fernanda Barth Leie

Fernanda has a degree in Health Science which she completed at UFRGS in Brazil. After completing her degree, she worked as a personal trainer for 5 years.

In 2006, she started her Pilates training in Brazil and completed a full time graduate certificate in studio Pilates.

In 2008, she moved to Sydney and in 2009 completed her Polestar Certificate IV in Pilates matwork.

Fernanda started working at Village Pilates at the beginning of 2010, teaching both studio and reformer classes.

 

 


JULIA WEBB

Julia Webb

Julia discovered Pilates in 2000 whilst completing her dance degree.

In 2004, she completed her Pilates training through Polestar Education, receiving her certificate in Pilates studio.

Julia moved to Sydney in 2006 and completed 2 years of study at the Australian Academy of Sport and Fitness, completing her Certificate IV in fitness.

In 2008, Julia completed the Pilates mat course through Polestar Education.

Julia started working at Village Studio at the end of 2008 and is currently working in 2 other studios around Sydney.

 

 


FIONA LAMB

Bachelor of Health Science (Exercise), Certificate IV Remedial Massage


Fiona Lamb

Fiona has had 4 years “hands-on” experience in the health and sporting environment and has been practicing as a remedial massage therapist since 2008.

Committed to furthering her knowledge and skills, Fiona studied her remedial massage at the NSW School of Massage and worked under Physiotherapists as part of her training. This experience gave her a thorough understanding of the body’s structure, how it reacts to pain and how to find the cause of the problem.

Critical to her methodology in treating each client, is to gain a clear understanding of their current condition and any pre-existing concerns and sensitivities. Fiona provides exercises and stretches to help correct posture and maintain the benefit of massage, where necessary.

Fiona is available Monday through Friday.

Julie McDonald

Over the years, Julie has assisted people in overcoming many issues: depression, weight loss, stress, insomnia, phobias, quit smoking, anxiety, personal performance, allergies, past life regression and accelerated change.

Julie has developed a huge academic and applied skill set and has qualifications in Counseling, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Past Life Regression and Sports & Performance therapy. Her hobbies and interests are studying Applied Psychology, Philosophy and Behavioural Change.

Julie is very passionate and committed with assisting people with change to create the life they truly desire.

She is a clinical member of the Australian Hypnotherapist Association and health rebates are available.
